Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent lodge within the breathtaking Chobe National Park and famous for its "Chobe Angels", a group of exclusively female guides.

All rooms of the lodge are facing the river and have air conditioning. Guests are accommodated in double rooms with en-suite bathrooms and private terrace/balcony. The lodge's entire grounds are generously cut, spiked with numerous trees and offer an incomparable view of the Chobe River from almost all points – lounge, viewing deck, swimming pool.

Location

The Chobe Game Lodge is located directly on the Chobe River which forms the northern border of the Chobe National Park. On the other side of the river lies Namibia. Chobe Game Lodge is the only lodge located within the Chobe Game Park.

The Camp

Guest accommodation

At Chobe Game Lodge, guests are accommodated in 40 comfortable double rooms or 4 suites, each with its own en-suite bathroom and private balcony/terrace. Each of the suites also has its own infinity pool. All rooms also have air conditioning, lighting, sockets and plenty of storage space. In addition, almost all guest accommodations offer a view of the wide flood plains of the Chobe River.

Central facilities

The Chobe Game Lodge complex is generously proportioned and sits directly on the banks of the Chobe River. A large foyer, several lounges, a restaurant, various viewing decks, a garden, a small souvenir shop and a swimming pool are available. Food is served at separate tables, either in the restaurant, in the garden or on one of the decks. Everything is in Moorish style – in terra colours, with arched arcades, tapestries and tiles. WiFi is available free of charge throughout the lodge. The guests can also make use of various wellness and fitness offers as well as a 12-inch telescope for observing the stars. Children from 6 years onwards are welcome on request, but there is no childcare. Not all activities are suitable for (young) children. Parents should seek advice on this in advance.

Activities

Game drives are offered in the morning and afternoon to explore the nature and wildlife of the Chobe River Front and the national park. The famous Chobe River cruises are conducted either on smaller flat boats or on a larger houseboat – an unforgettable experience when a herd of elephants passes through the river! The lodge has its own jetty from which the boats depart. On request and with a minimum stay of four days, a trip of several days to the Chobe National Park is also possible, during which not only the grandiose nature can be explored more closely, but also cultural aspects are illuminated.

Animals

Chobe National Park and the Chobe River Front are both real wildlife paradises. Here you will find the largest elephant population in Africa! But also other animals can be discovered on the game drives and water-based excursions. Animals such as hyaenas, lions, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, crocodiles, zebras, giraffes, warthogs and various antelope species are at home in the vast expanses of the national park. Furthermore, the Chobe River is an ideal habitat for countless bird species, which can be observed wonderfully. And also the facility itself is occasionally visited by animals such as warthogs or mongooses – wild animal observations can be made directly from the accommodation.
