Authentic wilderness safari in Zambia

Arrival and orien­ta­tion in Zambia

You will travel to Zambia independently and will be welcomed by our support team at Lusaka International Airport. This will be after you have claimed your luggage and exited immigration control. They will then support you with check-in for your flight to Lufupa Airstrip.

From here, you will join an experienced guide on a 30-minute transfer to Musekese Camp where your safari adventure starts.

Activ­i­ties

This safari offers many exciting activities so that you can discover the wildlife-rich region of Zambia. They are led by experienced and passionate guides. The activities include game drives, walking safaris, boat safaris, and canoe safaris.

Additionally, there are viewing hides. These enable undisturbed wildlife watching in the sanctuary and the safety of your accommodation.

Camps in Zambia

During your safari, you will be accommodated in three unique camps that provide exclusivity to a maximum of 10 guests:

Musekese Camp: Featuring serene chalets they have wooden-framed canvas walls and thatched roofs. Each unit is spacious, and the camp has comfortable beds under mosquito nets. Here, you can overlook the lagoon. It also has en-suite bathrooms and wooden furnishings from the local area. Solar-powered with charging in main areas ensures convenience.

Kutali Camp: Five tents offer stand-up height and spectacular views of the Zambezi. The canvas walls have full mesh panels for wildlife viewing. They have roll-down canvas for privacy or cooler evenings. Inside, there are single beds (which can be doubles) with high-quality linen to ensure a restful stay. The beds are complemented by en-suite bathrooms with hot bucket showers.

Chula Camp: Rectangular walk-in style tents and mesh sides. They have bamboo and reed walls. Each tent features high-quality linen, flushing toilets, and provides panoramic river views. The open-air en-suite bathrooms offer hot showers which makes your overall stay comfortable and offers an immersive stay.

Leisure and board

During your safari, you will be fully catered for with an extensive breakfast, lunch, and delicious dinner. In addition, you will have access to all drinks such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks. As a surprise, you can expect afternoon tea and snacks.

Between activities, you will have the opportunity to relax in the camps, learn more about the region or socialise with your group.

    1. Kafue National Park

    The Kafue National Park covers an area of about 22.400 km² and is Zambia's largest national park. The oldest protected area in the country is characterized by secluded, untouched and diverse expanses of land, which are home to an abundance of wild animals. With elephants, buffalos, leopards and lions, four of the Big Five can be found here, as well as wild dogs, hippos, cheetahs, more than 20 different antelope species and nearly 500 bird species.

    The landscape is characterized by the numerous arms of the Kafue River, wetland biotopes, Miombo forests, vast savannahs, thickets and floodplains – including the spectacular Busanga floodplains. Game drives, bush walks and boat trips allow you to explore this special place up close.

    2. Zambezi National Park

    The Lower Zambezi National Park spans both Zambia and Zimbabwe, enriching its biodiversity and cultural significance. Nestled along the Zambezi River, it hosts a diverse array of wildlife, from majestic elephants to prowling lions and bathing hippos. Visitors can embark on safaris, boat cruises, and fishing expeditions. Its landscapes, from floodplains to woodlands, offer an immersive experience for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Background to the wilder­ness safari

The Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia, situated on the border with Zimbabwe, is a jewel of unspoiled wilderness. With its vast floodplains, indigenous forests, and the majestic Zambezi River, it offers a rich diversity of animal and plant life. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles, lions, leopards, and a variety of birds are at home here. Activities in the park are varied and range from game drives and boat safaris along the Zambezi River to walking safaris and fishing trips.

Kafue National Park, the largest national park in Zambia and the second largest in Africa, is another natural paradise. Its landscape is characterised by riverine bush, miombo and savannah woodlands, open plains, and majestic granite outcrops. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, leopards, lions, zebras, and a variety of antelope species. Visitors can look forward to authentic safari experiences in remote areas of the park, off the beaten track and surrounded by unspoiled nature.
